Mostly Morbid Utah News

  • In June of this year, Ronnie Lee Gardner will become the first person in the U.S. to be executed by firing squad since 1996 (also in Utah.)
"Gardner's cousin, Jerry Hainsworth, said Gardner told him a few years ago: 'I'd rather do it that way because I've been shot a bunch of times.'"
"The raft was made of logs, said park spokesman Ron Terry, and the two men, both in their 20s, put into the river without seeking a permit from park rangers. The men were trying to navigate the river through the stretch known as The Narrows."
