On the Plains of Moab: A Trip to Arches

A traffic jam on SR 24.  The sign said "CAUTION LIVESTOCK," so I got out and told them to be sure and look both ways.

The fantastic-looking arches and hoodoos of Arches National Park are formed from Entrada sandstone, lying on top of the Navajo that gives Capitol Reef its distinctive domes.

Delicate Arch at twilight.  See all the people gathered over there like nature paparazzi?  That's why I'm glad I don't work here.

The long way back around took me over the SR 95 bridge over the Colorado River in Glen Canyon NRA.
