We got about three inches of rain in a twenty-four hour period last week.  The annual average is eleven.

How High's the Water, Momma?

We don't get much rain, but when we do it pours down the mountains and funnels into washes, causing flash floods like this one on the scenic drive.  This one is ebbing, but when they come they can carry away a vehicle.

Shi Shi

A foggy day on Shi Shi beach (say Shy-Shy), whose popularity exploded after media attention like this clip from the Travel Channel, naming it America's best wilderness beach. The beach at Shi Shi is fine sand, unlike the rocky beaches further to the South. It's also a great place to see starfish and other marine life at low tide.
