There and Back Again, Part Three

One of the advantages of being on Eastern Standard Time was I was up early enough to see this mountain sunrise.

They say the winds on this ridge can blow a man right off the mountain.

Back down in the bush, all the rain made for some amazing waterfalls.

Our reward for suffering through the wind and the rain was this sunny beach on a remote mountain lake.

Yet our trials were not yet over.  Such pointy claws and beaks...

Quickly, across the Waiau to safety...

Now, which way back to Auckland?
