Of course, US 66 was decommissioned in 1985, but you can still follow it with a good guidebook and a little determination.  Most of the time it runs parallel to I-40, sometimes crossing over or under...

...and sometimes veering off onto unpaved farm roads.

But I think the rewards are worth it.

I dunno, this place looks legit'.
