What Second Commandment?

This cross outside Groom, Texas, stands at 190 feet and is claimed to be the largest in the Western Hemisphere.  Because of the panhandle's dead flat landscape, you can see it for over twenty miles away.

By comparison, "Betty's Cross" in Nelsonville, Ohio isn't even in the running at a mere sixty-five feet.  (photo circa 2007)

They also have a replica of the shroud of Turin, an "empty tomb," and the stations of the cross.  If you walk them backwards, as I did, they tell the story of how Jesus was helped down from the cross, clothed by some friendly Romans, and eventually pardoned by Pontius Pilate.
